Thin Floor Drain System
If your basement floor is thin, the best solution for waterproofing your basement is the FlowGuard Thin Floor Drain System. Most basements need jackhammering around the perimeter to properly place a French drain system on the footing.
This approach doesn’t work with thin concrete floors. The drainage system either won’t sit on the footing properly or will extend too far above the floor slab.
With the FlowGuard Thin Floor Drain System, you have a drainage system that easily fits under thin concrete floor slabs. A wall flange will collect water from the walls while avoiding issues from the “mud zone.”
Dealing With the “Mud Zone”
The FlowGuard Thin Floor Drain System is installed in front of the foundation footer, putting it inside the “mud zone.” This area is where mud from under the floor can enter the perimeter drain and clog it.
To prevent issues with the “mud zone,” we install a bed of drainage stone underneath and around the drain. This bed helps the FlowGuard Thin Floor Drain System avoid clogs.
Flooding Through Floor Cracks
Most cracks in basement floors will stop leaking after the installation of a drain system. However, if you’re still concerned about a leak, we can customize your system to address any worries.
We can create a lateral line under the floor in areas where a large crack has formed. This drainage line runs directly to your sump pump, sending any water to the pump before it can flood up to the surface.
