This case study took place in Raleigh, NC, and this homeowner realized their crawl space needed a refreshment. The homeowner noticed their crawl space had a lot of moisture in it, insulation was falling down, mold was growing, and there were some signs of wood rot. A homeowner located in Raleigh, NC, noticed an odor inside of their home, along with what felt like excessive humidity. After contemplating what it could be, the homeowner decided to check their crawl space. In the crawl space, they found a lot of moisture, insulation falling down, mold growth, and wood rot. One of our trained and experienced crawl space crews visited this Raleigh, NC home and began the installation that the design specialist proposed to the homeowner. First and foremost, the crew removed the insulation to get rid of odors, as well as prevent mold, rot, and future odors. Our crew also installed a sump pump in the lowest area of the crawl space, as well as added an exterior discharge line to send the water out when it does get water. To prevent further mold, Regional performed structural cleaning, which reduces the current mold, as well as LumberKote, which is sprayed onto the wood to seal it and prevent further mold growth.
In order to further waterproof the crawl space, we also added CleanSpace to the entire floor and SilverGlo to the walls. The two are sealed together to form an encapsulation, and combined, they help with insulation and waterproofing in the future. Lastly, our crew installed a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to continue humidity control in the future.
